Jesus is just alright with me. Jesus is just alright, oh yeah!

I came across a picture of a “Cool” Jesus:Cool Jesus

I just liked it, and decided to share it, for no apparent reason, which is why I do most stuff.

That\’s the "buddy Jesus" from the Kevin Smith flick "Dogma," in which stoner pals Jay and Silent Bob team up with the 13th apostle (Chris Rock) to help the last blood descendant of Jesus (a woman who works in an abortion clinic) kill two fallen angels (Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) who are trying to use a Catholic dogmatic loophole to get back into heaven. Alanis Morrissette plays the Almighty. Awesome movie, full of swearing and religious satire. I think it would actually fry your soul to watch it, X.

  2. Jen

That\’s a song, too. Jesus Is Just Alright. I\’ve got it somewhere. Who are the guys who did "LIsten To The Music"? Oh, the Doobie Brothers. They did that record. I have it on tape!

  3. X-Evolutionist

@Greg. I\’ve seen Clerks. I\’ve I can get some courage, I\’ll see Dogma. @Jen, Yeah, I love that song. I also love Norman Greenbaum\’s Spirit in the Sky and Jesus Christ Superstar by Webber and Rice.

Greg: I think this is the most interesting movie review I\’ve ever heard, especially this part:Awesome movie, full of swearing and religious satire. I think it would actually fry your soul to watch it, X.

  5. X-Evolutionist

@Greg: Dogma is offically in my Netflx queue, now, It\’s going to have to wait until after Battlestar Galactica and The Prisoner, though.X

  6. Jen

Oh, Spirit In The Sky. And the feature is, I can\’t work out whether this should be tagged as per 1969 or 1970 as it was a close-to-Christmas record and you\’ll find it on either compilation albums!Hey, where do I think I am? Radio, or something!

  7. X-Evolutionist

I have an iPod. I want to eventally get a lot of good old rock and roll.X

  8. Greg

@ X – Just looking out for your mortal soul, that\’s all. It\’s actually a pretty awesome movie, and good does indeed triumph over evil in the end. I especially loved Alan Rickman as Metatron, who loves tequila but can\’t actually drink any of it. Oh and he has no genitals.

  9. X-Evolutionist

Too much information!!! Or maybe you were trying to say that Metatron is not genial, like he\’s not nice.Oh, and about my mortal soul. I\’m in the family for good. I can\’t get kicked out of the family for messing up. ALL people mess up. The ones who do not mess up are liars.Sounds like an interesting movie. I watched Clerks with my hubby, my second time, his first. All the way through I was saying I didn\’t remember how raunchy it was. I do like odd films. I\’m an old girl, so I like odd things. I\’ll see Dogma. I\’m brave.

  10. X-Evolutionist

Oh, those Freudian typos! I meant to say I was an ODD girl, not an OLD girl.

  11. Jen

That\’s what we call a "gotcha" old girl! Ya did it to yourself. Now, what did you do that for;)

  12. X-Evolutionist

Well, I don\’t claim to be young, so I didn\’t tell any fibs….

  13. Greg

Metatron is actually rather crass and indifferent, which is a pretty interesting point-of-view for an angel. Seems that angels are sort of bummed about their rank in the heavens. Metatron feels a bit like the butt of some cosmic joke. One of the fallen angels is rather miffed that God doesn\’t consider them as special or important as humans. The rest I\’ll leave for you to watch. Enjoy!

I am really intrigued, Greg. I wish they had this on the Netflix streaming, but I\’ll have to have it wait in line after a million episodes or Battlestar. Snore. OK, just a little bit snory for me. My brain falls asleep if there is a lot of movement in a scene. It lulls my brain to sleep. My eyes are looking, but nothing registers. After every fight I have to ask my hubby who died. I like movies with a lot of talking, thinking, and jerking you around…..

  15. Robin

Hi X, Greg you made me laugh out loud, saying it would fry her soul to watch it. I did watch it and remember being mortified by some of it, but I did find it somewhat interesting and watched the whole movie. I can\’t remember all of it so I must have blocked some of it out LOL. X you will have to give a preview of it when you watch it. Oh yeah and the angels don\’t have any "private part\’s" LOL

  16. X-Evolutionist

Robin, actually, I find it very interesting to watch some secular movies and see what they say about God. There\’s a movie called Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley more that is about man\’s relationships with God and Satan. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061391/It\’s been a long, long time, I don\’t even think I was a believer yet when I saw it.

  17. X-Evolutionist

I just looked up Bedazzled in Netflix and added it to my instant queue. It\’s got a woman in a bikini on the front cover! Huh? It\’s the right movie, though. I guess I must have forgotten some of the plot.X

  18. Robin

I agree, and watch a lot of secular movies. Sometimes the swearing get\’s to me and I will turn it off, but for the most part I watch a lot of movies. I will go check that out, I think I may have already seen it. I think there may have been a remake of that with Brandon Fraiser. ?

  19. Greg

Every 70\’s movie with Dudley Moore had a woman in a bikini.

  20. X-Evolutionist

@Everybody: I gotta go. My hubby brought home Chinese food. Yum. See you tomorrow.

  21. Mandy

LOL EVERY 70\’s movie had a woman in a bikini, it was obligatory!

  22. Jen

    Night X. Munchies sounds great:-)

  23. Robin

Bye X, Greg you made me laugh out loud again !! Thank\’s…Bye all

  24. X-Evolutionist

@Robin, Mandy,Jen,Greg: My hubby went back to the office after dinner! @Robin, yes, it was remade recently, but I don\’t know the details.

  25. BRAD

Yo X Brad here, I\’ like to let you know I\’m still around. I just don"t do much, I just visit from time to time and read what\’s knew. Like the pic.

  26. X-Evolutionist

Hey, Brad! Thanks for stopping by. I was just getting ready to get offline, though. Sorry about the bad timing. My hubby is home now and we are going to watch some TV. See you around soon, OK?X
