Happy New Year!

It’s almost the end of another year. How time flies these days!

I had a nice long weekend with my hubby. We had a wonderful time hanging out and spending Christmas together. But, now I’m getting ready to clock in and get my work caught up. I’m hoping I can get caught up enough to have a guilt-free long weekend next week for New Year’s Day. Work work work!

Since I’ve been concentrating on working and spending time with my hubby, I’ve gotten behind on my visiting here in Spaces Land. I’ll be out visiting again after the first of the year. See you then!

I hope everybody is enjoying the holiday season. Happy New Year!

That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

In "A Charlie Brown Christmas" Charlie Brown asks: "Isn’t there anyone out there who can tell me what Christmas is all about?"

Linus steps up and says:

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the lord shone round about them, and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you this day is born in the City of Bethlehem, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men’". That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

That’s my favorite part of A Charlie Brown Christmas, when Linus quotes Luke chapter two from the Bible.

Ahhh! It was a nice day yesterday.

It’s been pretty cold here lately. But, yesterday it warmed up, and I was able to go outside in a T-shirt and play with the dogs. I also sat in lounge chair and watched the waterfall and the goldfish.

I’ve had cabin fever being cooped up:

All work and no play makes X a dull girl.

All work and no play makes X a dull girl.

All work and no play makes X a dull girl.

It was nice to go out and play!

The snow is almost all melted.

There is still ice on the goldfish pond, but the snow is almost all gone. It was fun while it lasted!

When I say… “I am a Christian”

I just got this in my email inbox and want to share it. This essay hits on the dot what it means to me to be a Christian.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I’m not shouting "I’m clean living."
I’m whispering "I was lost,
Now I’m found and forgiven."

When I say.. "I am a Christian"
I don’t speak of this with pride
I’m confessing that I stumble
And need Christ to be my guide.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say… "I am a Christian"
I’m not holier than thou,
I’m just a simple sinner
Who received God’s good grace, somehow!

Winter wonderland in my own backyard!

Yesterday, I mentioned that it snowed. Now, I have pictures!

First, our goldfish pond yesterday :

Now, for contrast, our goldfish pond last spring:

Quite a difference, huh? This California Girl is still not used to snow at my own house now that we live in Oklahoma. I just want to look at it all day and say "Zowie!"

It’s a winter wonderland outside!

Oh, what a beautiful morning! I bundled up and went outside and got some pictures of the snow in the backyard. It is so pretty! Once my hubby downloads the pictures, I’ll post one here.
